The course

Choose a language and begin reading today.

Open it in your browser and begin — nothing to install, no account, and no cost.

Koine Greek

Read the New Testament in its own words.

Stories, pictures, and recorded audio from the first lesson — not paradigms to memorize.

Biblical Hebrew

Three quarters of the Bible was written in Hebrew.

Six levels available today, with illustrated readers and free live online classes.

Read aloud to you

Hear every word and line spoken before you have to produce it yourself. The early Greek chapters have studio recordings, with more being added.

Practice built in

Fill-in-the-blank readings, checkpoints at the end of each week, and review that brings words back before you forget them.

Progress is saved

Words you meet come back on a schedule, and the map shows exactly where you left off.

Every course, reader, and class is free. Lingua Deo Gloria is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with no fees, no ads, and no paywalls — the work is paid for by people who give.

How we teach

Learned like a language

Our teaching stands on comprehensible input: you acquire Hebrew and Greek by understanding messages — stories, pictures, conversation — not by memorizing paradigms first.

Stories before charts

Illustrated narratives introduce the language in context. Grammar comes later, once the patterns are already familiar.

Spoken from day one

You speak, listen, read, and write from the first lesson.

Paced to be sustainable

Illustrated books and steady pacing keep the workload manageable, so students keep going past the first few weeks.

An illustrated story panel from the Greek course: Jacob hurries to his sister in the courtyard and asks her, in Greek, whether she is well

From the course · chapter 3

ἔχεις καλῶς;

The language carries the story.

Chapters are illustrated panel by panel, and the story is read aloud as you go. You understand the picture before anyone explains it — a brother asking his sister whether she is well — so the Greek is understood rather than translated. Recordings and artwork are still being added to the later chapters.

Testimonials

What our students say

I went from knowing words and slowly translating sentences to thinking, hearing, and speaking Biblical Hebrew — without constantly translating in my head or reaching for a book. Anyone with even a small desire to learn a biblical language should put in the time with Lingua Deo Gloria.

An amazing opportunity to learn New Testament Greek with outstanding teachers who love Jesus — Scott is kind and patient when we make mistakes, and prays in Greek at the beginning of each lesson. You will need to set aside a large amount of time to study.
Carol SaiaFormer missionary · Lynnwood, Washington
I had tried to self-study Biblical Hebrew before, and I loved the idea of learning it as a living language. The teaching and content are incredible, and Scott brings the language to life in a way that is so motivating.
